Larry’s Auto Parts is a 3rd generation, locally owned and operated company, started by Larry and Fumie Isono. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Larry worked for several locally owned auto parts stores and eventually opened his own along with his wife Fumie. Converting an old doctor’s office on Beretania in Moili`ili to their first store on March 1, 1965. While raising four sons, Fumie managed the accounting and delivery services.
Their first Kaimuki location opened in August 1975 followed by their store in Manoa in March 1979. After 20 years at the original Kaimuki store, Larry’s Auto Parts moved to their current Kaimuki location on Waialae and Sierra in 1995, marking it as their flagship store. On October 2000, Larry’s Auto Parts expanded to East Honolulu to open in Hawaii Kai then moving down the block to their current location at the Hawaii Kai Corporate Plaza in November 2015. The Sand Island location was opened in April 2002 where it continues to operate on Sand Island Access Road. February 2014 brought Larry’s Auto Parts to the Windward side of Oahu in the Laie Shopping Center. Larry and Fumie started their Moili`ili store with one other employee and grew to 32 employees at four locations over the years.
